Washington, D.C.

I am slightly ashamed to admit that I have never been all that interested in seeing the sights of Washington, D.C. That may sound terribly unpatriotic, but I'm just not very touristy when it comes to monuments, statues, and things like that. Hopefully it will come with age. I do appreciate the history, though, and we knew we couldn't leave here and go back to Utah without saying that we visited our nation's capital. So we did. And I'm glad we did. We went to the Jefferson Memorial, stopped by the Holocaust Museum, which was extremely humbling, and saw the Washington Monument from a distance. We're saving the Lincoln Memorial and White House for next time.

It was windy (hence the hair)

Troy took the third picture because we thought it was cool that a sentence with the words "God Eternal" is carved into the stone of the dome. We all know that our founding fathers established this country upon principles that included religion and faith in God... so why have those principles become subjects that many deem politically incorrect and offensive today? Beats me! I wonder if those men are disappointed!

It is a disgrace to know someone who does not cherish our nation's capital's statues. You guys got some good pictures. I especially like the one of you two with the Jefferson Memorial behind you. It looks like your photographer really knew what she (I'm assuming it was a she) was doing, and really captured the moment... and is really smart... and hot.

I love DC... I am not much of a "tour" type person myself, but when I was there a few years ago, I did enjoy walking around and checking it all out.. I was pretty impressed. I went to the Holocaust museum by myself and bawled my eyes out for like 3 hours.. I agree, very humbling. I don't think I would ever want to go back there, but I do think that it is something every one should do at least once. ... Is it so so hot out there? I have a friend who lives just outside or DC and she says the summers are so stinking hot....
