Deep-Fried What?!

Ah, there's nothing like a state fair to make you appreciate where you come from or, thankfully, don't come from. On Friday night, we ventured out to the Utah State Fair with our friends Jan, Judson, and baby Addie.

We spent a couple of hours walking around and looked at the tigers and farm animals, but mostly we just ate. We figured if we were going to eat fair food at all, we might as well really indulge. Unfortunately for Troy, the line at this stand was about 50 people too long for him to get what he really wanted...

Deep-fried peanut butter and jelly. And if that (which is dipped in batter, fried, and doused in powdered sugar and hot fudge) doesn't please your pallet, check out the last line on the sign for more options. I think it's against the law to serve any of these outside of fairgrounds.

We did, however, decide on these bad boys for our main course:

Foot-long corndogs

Then, after sharing an elephant ear for our side dish, we polished off our trans fat filled meal by splitting one of these fine fair delicacies:

Little Addie was such a good baby the entire time, but I think she got a little tired of the papparazi, i.e. Troy, after a while.

The fair is always a good time and since we haven't had heart attacks yet, I think we're all safe!

Wow. That is quite the menu. I was figuring you'd finish your post with a serious trip to the bathroom, but sounds like you managed. Great pics, BTW.

Lol, oh man, I could never take Andy to the state fair, I think he'd run off and start traveling with the deep fried oreo and peanut butter jelly stand.

Amy, I love those pictures of the fair. Especially the one with just you with your mouth open at the camera! Made me laugh! But the pictures are so clear and sharp. Got to love all those fried things.

Sorry to read about the bike accident. Hopefully you're feeling better!

(PS- Thanks for the comment- Felicia's getting married October 18th!! So... really soon!)

Oh, I am oh so so so so so sorry! I'm still even new at the commenting thing! I've been picking it up a little bit lately, so I'll do better. I really do think comments in my head when I'm reading though, such as "that's really disgusting!" I saw one of these venues selling gross stuff at a park here the other day. I should try it. It's gotta be good or the wouldn't be selling it, right?
