Because YES. I picked up my copy of Stephenie Meyer's 4th and "final" book in the Twilight Series, Breaking Dawn, just after midnight last night. I mean, what if I had waited until today during normal business hours and they were all sold out? I just couldn't risk it.
Barnes and Noble had a late-night release shindig for the book, which was taken very seriously by girls who decked themselves out in dresses, stickers, and Team Edward/Team Jacob t-shirts. Don't jump to any conclusions about me, though. I'm not THAT nerdy. Fortunately I had already called ahead to reserve a copy (duh!), so Troy and I (I made him go with me, bless his heart) got to stand in the "shorter" line until the book was finally in my hands.
Oh, and I may or may not have stayed up until 4am and read 117 pages.
**UPDATE: I finished the book in about 3 days. I won't go into a review or anything, but I did like it. I would have liked it no matter what, though! Even though there wasn't enough Edward in the book, I wish there had been more focus on Bella and Edward in general, Jacob's book was too long, and the ending wasn't as suspenseful as you would have thought, I'm actually glad that everything worked out. I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic who likes a happy ending!

Don't worry, my sister picked it up for us last night at midnight... and the first thing I did when I woke up this morning is read it for QUITE A WHILE! Isn't it great that there are 700 + pages!... Should last me a week! ha ha
Yes, I have heard a lot about all this hoopla. I guess I need to borrow the first one from you again and give it another go.
But she's such a good writer! Have you read "The Host" yet? I'm just starting that one and so far I like it!
oh i dont think you are a nerd for going at midnight, well maybe a little one! JK! :) THats awesome. I never read past the first. are they pretty good?! I hear there is a movie coming out!! You will have to let me know how the fourth one is, maybe i will consider reading! By the way SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2 comes out, dont know if you are a fan but I want to go, so if you want to come with me let me know! :)
Don't worry I read it in less than two days!! I love her books!
I haven't read any of the books yet. I guess I should to see what all of the hoopla is about.
Sooooooo? Did you like it. I didn't. I thought it was terribly anticlimatic. The ending was lazy in my opinion. Anyway, you need to post your opinion!
So have you finished it yet? I'm almost embarrassed to admit I already have, even with a new baby. But I'm going to have to agree with the last comment. I think the ending was a bit anticlimatic, but other than that I liked it. I thought it was pretty similar to the rest of her books.
Come to San Antonio! Our ward is full of dental and medical students. Tim's brother and our friends both attend the dental school.
Hey Amy! I heard these books are FANTASTIC! I need to find some time to give them a read. :)
Amy, I love reading your blog. You crack me up. When are you guys coming back? We miss you!
