Fort Howard

It was a gorgeous day, so Troy and I and the Chambers decided to take a drive after church on Sunday. We wanted to find a place where we could see the ocean so we ended up at Fort Howard on the Chesapeake Bay. It was a cute little place with a few trails and a couple of military hideouts from the 1800s. It would have been nice to find a shore to walk along, but there wasn't much access to the water because of this:

However, we managed to weave our way through the trees to one solitary dock and a few rocks that we could take some pictures on.

I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter if they are 5 or 25... looking for bugs under big rocks just never gets old to a boy. It's instinctive.

We just had to, really.

There were a lot of interesting things that people had left behind at some of the hideouts. For example, someone forgot their bus. Thanks to Kipp for braving the Hornet's nest so we could snap this great shot.

It was the nicest day we have had here so far, so it was perfect for a leisurely stroll. Fort Howard apparently has a lot of historical significance, but you can google it on your own time. :) Instead, I'll leave you with some pictures of us on some, I'm sure, historically significant stairs.

What a fun day. The guys really do look like little kids playing with the bugs. We look forward to our next adventure of exploring!

You guys are always on some crazy adventure :) Michael (3) was a little concerned when he saw cousin Troy being hit by the bus, but I'm sure he'll recover ;) And I'll pass your message on to Nik. She'll be glad to hear from you.

Hey miss Amy.. looks like you guys are having fun! So I have sad news: My bro Jared is staying in Milwaukee for another 4 years! He is doing his anesthesiology residency out there.. So unless your sis moves out there soon, I don't know how we will ever hook them up :( Sad, huh. Maybe we could get them to email and they could have an internet relationship. I hear those aren't creepy and always work out great :) ha ha Are you working or anything while you're out there?
