Dallas Getaway, Part Uno

Troy, Jovie, and I went on a little getaway to Dallas recently and it was so much fun!  I am so glad Troy suggested it.  Summers are crazy busy for us (okay, mostly him) and he doesn't really take time off, so this was just the break we needed!

On Sunday afternoon, we drove the three hours to Dallas and checked into the Fairmont Dallas Hotel.  We got settled and freshened up, asked for a restaurant recommendation, and walked a block to the trolley stop that took us uptown to dinner.

We happened to get the only trolley that wasn't air conditioned.  Hot much?
We went to Primo's Tex-Mex Restaurant.  We probably wouldn't have picked it just by looking at it, but I'm glad somebody recommended it because it was actually really good.  Jovie loved feeding her dad the chips.  She'd hold out a chip, turn her head and wait with anticipation, and laugh it up when Troy came in for the bite.  You had to be there.

"Mom finally put my hair up! Now my hair isn't sticking to my neck!"

After walking around and taking the trolley back to our hotel, we decided to call it a night.  One of us was making it clear that we were plum tuckered out.  Notice the red, puffy eyes.

She slept for 13 hours that night.  We even woke up before her.  At 8:30.  We can't remember the last time we both got to sleep in until 8:30.
