There hasn't been too much going on here, but I'm tired of looking at the previous post, so I'll put up some cute pictures of Jovie and call it good.
Jovie is such a little sponge these days. It seriously is amazing how much she understands. Of course, we think she's super smart and more advanced than other kids her age, but I'm sure it's pretty normal. I test her all the time by asking her to do things or find things or point to things and I can't believe all that she knows, some things I don't even remember actually teaching her. She's very observant!
She LOVES books, but more than that she loves to sit in our laps and be read to. It is so adorable. I hope she continues to be a little bookworm!
I've also realized that this age is not particularly the easiest. This girl has a mind of her own and she has been going through quite the whiny stage. We are slowly transitioning from two naps to one, slowly being the operative word because I'm having a really hard time letting go. Anyone else out there literally mourn over the loss of the second nap? It really deserves a grieving period, or at least a moment of silence in remembrance.
The majority of the time, though, Jovie is such a fun and happy little toddler! Ah, I can't believe I even have a toddler!

Nothing New
She loves to put mittens and hats on and run around.
Reading a book, what else?
Pointing to her belly button. She will show anyone who will look.

It's DEFINITELY hard to let go of the second nap but it's also great because they tend to nap longer for the one. Mason is 2 1/2 and still naps 2-3 hours in the afternoon. I prefer having a larger chunk of mommy time (especially when little brother is sleeping during that time)!
That's what I'm hoping for, but does it take them a little while to adjust and go longer? Because at this point (and we just started) she's still napping about the same amount of time as she would during naps when she was taking 2.
Addie isn't the greatest example because she's never napped especially well, but her afternoon nap stayed about the same length. When she was about 2 the nap FINALLY started to get a little longer (but now it's a huge struggle to get her to bed when she naps for 2 hours--I can't win).
Jovie is so adorable. She looks so old to me because of all her hair! It's so fun to see them learn new things every day.
We really need to get together soon!
What a beautiful girl!
