Blogging is like writing in a journal - it seems like when I haven't done it in a while, it becomes more and more difficult to get started again. The task seems overwhelming, so I end up putting it off even longer. And now I'm left with a feeling of guilt that I haven't been better at documenting our growing baby! Jovie is 5 months old already and I can hardly believe it!
Until now, I never understood it when a mom would say their baby was growing up too fast and that they wish they would stop. I'm not going to lie, the first few months of motherhood were not easy. All I wanted was for Jovie to get bigger. However, things changed once she hit the 4 month mark. She went from a little infant who fussed a lot to this happy little person with such a fun personality! I would be just fine if she stayed this age forever! I gave her a bath last night and she sat calmly in my lap afterwards and let me comb her hair dry. I kept thinking about how big she is getting and how quickly the time is flying by. It made me a little sad!
Jovie makes us laugh constantly and we can't help but kiss her cheeks all day long. She rolls, she grabs, she reaches, she babbles and coos, she smiles and laughs, she loves to suck on her hands and grab her feet, she kicks and moves herself around like crazy, she stands and likes to walk. I love being with her and watching her grow and discover every single day.
Here are a few pictures from the last while.

I still can't get over how long her hair is. And don't feel bad about being behind. Motherhood keeps you busy busy and more busy! I hope you guys are enjoying her and that she is letting you get some sleep at night.
This kid needs to be a baby model! She looks like she has a stylish little bob haircut, it so freakin' cute! She is adorable and I think she is looking more and more like you (Amy)!
I admit, I have very similar feelings. I am totally in love with Charlotte, but sometimes I wonder if she is happy to be her or not. It seems like her tummy is always hurting...anyway, little Jovie gives me hope! She is such a cutie and looks so happy. It is so much fun to be a mom!
Yes this is long over due. Jovie is a tiny Amy. Oh my gosh it makes me laugh. In that picture of her leaning back on her boppy she looks really old. I think her hair makes her look older. I am used to q-ball babies.
The last picture is my favorite of her big pretty eyes!! I am so glad you updated, keep them comin!!
So so so cute!!! I drive by your house the other day (not RIGHT by it, but by the neighborhood) and gave it a little wave. Hope all is well!
Love her!
May those chubby cheeks stay as long as possible! They do look very kissable :) I struggled w/ my first 4 months of motherhood too. They are a little easier the older they get. Until you have another one. Then you wonder what the big deal was when they were little! Seriously. I realized later that it wasn't Michael that changed as much as me. It's all part of the adventure.
Amy! She is so precious! I can't believe how much hair she has. She's so sweet! Hope all is well!!!
