Yep, Chelsie, Mckell, Melissa, and I joined the thousands of hardcore Twilight fans and went to the midnight premiere last night. We pre-ordered our tickets weeks ago, but got there around 8:30 since we knew the line would be outrageous and we didn't want to get split up. We had a ton of fun despite waiting outside in the cold for a couple of hours before the line made it inside, and once we got in one of the six screens showing it, we had the best seats in there!
What can I say about the movie? It definitely doesn't compare to the book, but that is expected when you have to condense 500 plus pages into two hours. For that reason, I'm sure those who hadn't read the book loved it since they didn't have to deal with the inevitable of comparing scenes in the movie with parts of the book in their head throughout the whole thing. Some parts were a little cheesy and there were things in the movie that weren't in the book and things that were in the book that I would have loved to see in the movie, but what do you do? A lot of the chemistry that was developed between Edward and Bella in the book obviously couldn't be built up much on screen since the story had to evolve so quickly for time's sake. So, the romance seemed really rushed and didn't make your heart race in anticipation as much as it does in the books. I loved Edward, but not Bella. I didn't think Kristen Stewart did that great at all and what's up with her never smiling? Anyway, don't get me wrong!! I'd love the movie no matter what and it is good and fun and has a lot of cool action scenes. And I know Edward definitely satisfied a lot of swooning hearts! I liked it and will definitely see it another couple times in the theater (did I just admit that out loud?!). What did you think?

I saw the movie this afternoon. I thought it was good. There was one line that made me laugh out loud. Bella said "I knew three things for sure. 1) Edward was definitely a vampire." Or something to that affect. DUH!!!
The movie made me want to read the book.
Very good review. :) I definitely agree that there were some cheesy parts and Edward did swoon some hearts in that theater thanks to all the high school girls haha. Good news though, I did hear that they are planning on making a sequel. I just hope they make it better this time! I finally started reading the last book and I love it. Oh and p.s. I dont like that pic...hello chubby bunny! Anyways hope you and Troy have a good Thanksgiving! Let's plan something soon!
Jeremy and I saw the movie the other day, and we both liked it. J never read the book, but liked it anyway. It was kinda like reading the book in serious fast forward. I agree with you though, they didn't really build up their relationship enough, but like you said, it is only a 2 hour movie. I thought that they did a good job, I would have liked to see Alice more, she was such a big part of the book, and had such a little role in the movie.
